It’s pretty obvious that I like to take pictures so whenever I travel, I return with a memory card full of photos from my adventures. I always thought taking pictures was the best way to remember my trips, but I’m starting to question that!
I know I won’t be able to stop taking pictures completely, but after reading a blog post, Bring Back More From Your Travels Than Just Souvenirs, I think I should reconsider how I remember my trips. The post really made me think about the variety of ways I can reminisce a fun trip! For example, I recently rented a condo in Myrtle Beach and have a million pictures of the beautiful beach, sand and sunsets, but my pictures don’t bring the local charm of the city back home. If I start paying closer attention to my surrounds when I travel, I can recreate the look and feel of the city in my own home if I like it. So from now on, I am going to pick out one thing I love from the cities I travel and try to incorporate it into my home!
